The process is based on a combustion reaction between oxygen and a combustible gas. The combustion takes place in a dedicated section inside the gun generating extremely high pressures.
The combustion products exit the nozzle at supersonic speed, generating a jet in which the powder is injected to be melted and accelerated toward the surface to be coated.
With this process, the resultant coatings are extremely dense and possess strong adhesion to the substrate surface.
